QualityLogic follows Smart Grid standards work closely, develops and implements comprehensive test solutions based on these emerging standards, and contributes to key industry organizations and initiatives.
Capabilities
With over 25 years of interoperability testing experience, QualityLogic is uniquely qualified to ensure that components of Smart Grid projects work together.
QualityLogic’s specialty is interoperability and conformance testing. We develop in-depth, rigorous testing methodologies through our extensive analysis of complex specifications, determining interactions between components and creating test plans and solutions to verify that all components interact as intended. In addition, our capabilities include:
- Training workshops in Smart Grid interoperability for utility partners, vendors and others
- Development of interoperability testing strategies in the Smart Grid
- Development of test solutions based on standards and proprietary technologies
- Development and execution of certification programs and tools
- Interoperability testing services using QualityLogic or 3rd party testing programs
- Smart grid analytics
- Smart grid communications standards
We conduct testing both on site and remotely from our test labs. This testing ensures that your devices and systems conform to standards for cyber security and interoperability.
OpenADR 2.0 - Transactive Control Protocol - SEP 2.0 Interoperability Demo
QualityLogic's Chief Test Architect, Jim Zuber, narrates this brief demo of OpenADR 2.0 Protocol interacting with Transactive Control Protocol and Smart Energy Profile 2.0 (SEP 2.0).
Test Systems
QualityLogic, an active participant in the development of many smart grid standards, is developing a test system to validate the interoperability and reliability of smart meters, business and residential energy management devices, and gateways that share energy information with business and residential users via the Smart Energy Profile 2.0 standard. The Smart Energy Profile 2.0 Test System is the first in a series of interoperability tests for devices connected to a smarter grid.
QualityLogic has been selected by OpenADR Alliance, a nonprofit corporation created to foster the development, adoption and compliance of the Open Automated Demand Response (OpenADR) Smart Grid standard, to develop a conformance and interoperability test tool for OpenADR 2 compliant products.
Quality Assurance and Testing Services
Certification
QualityLogic works with you to create and execute logo certification programs and/or develop certification test tools to ensure that third party products will interoperate with your smart grid solution. We created the test suite and execute ongoing certification testing for Itron's ChoiceConnect® ERT® Receiver logo program, and we have developed a certification test tool for OpenADR 2.
Custom Tool Development
As part of the largest project of its kind in the U.S., the Pacific Northwest Smart Grid Demonstration Project, QualityLogic wrote the interoperability section of the proposal and is providing interoperability testing and custom test tools. For more information about this 5-state, 5-year project, download the brochure or visit the Project's web site.
QualityLogic is working with the MultiSpeak® Initiative to provide data mapping analysis between MultiSpeak, OpenADE/ESPI, OpenADR and Smart Energy Profile 2.0. This analysis will help ensure that MultiSpeak v4.1.4 will be interoperable with these standards and, in the case of OpenADE/ESPI, help MultiSpeak users to participate in Green Button projects.
Choose QualityLogic as your test partner, and you get rigorous testing of component interactions to ensure that your deployment goes smoothly, and you and your customers receive the maximum benefit.
