NIST SP 800-53 and 800-82 Cyber Security Standards

NIST Special Publication (SP) 800-53 Recommended Security Controls for Federal Information Systems (including those for the Bulk Power System) provides guidelines to select and specify security controls for information systems that support executive agencies of the federal government. The guidelines apply to all components of an information system that processes, stores, or transmits federal information.

NIST SP 800-82 Guide to Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Security provides guidance on securing Industrial Control Systems (ICS), including Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and other control system configurations while addressing the performance, reliability, and safety requirements of each.
