TestJob Builder and TestJob Sender add a new layer of automation to help you get even more value from your investments in QualityLogic Test Suites for major PDLs, including XPS, PDF and GDI.
With TestJob Builder, it’s quick and easy to search for the most pertinent and useful test files sets for each test need.
By using TestJob Builder, test engineers and QA test teams can save time by quickly identifying files best suited for regression or spot checking of specific functions of their imaging controller.
TestJob Builder is a search application that lets you scan through QualityLogic’s new library of searchable databases. Currently, this library includes the following searchable databases, and more will be added over the next year:
- XPS SP1 ATS
- XPS SP1 FTS
- XPS SP1 CET
- XPS SP1 Color Test Suite
- HD Photo SP1 FTS
- PDF 1.7 FTS
You can now search for specific test files, based on search term attributes, within all the files included in the QualityLogic test suites you choose.
You can enter TestJob Builder search terms as specific PDL-type commands, or you may choose from a higher-level category of imaging functions that you wish to test. TestJob Builder displays thumbnails of selected files, so you can visually check the files your search returns.
Once you select a list of files, you can choose to use the list as is or reduce the number of available files based on several criteria. The final list of chosen files can then be sent to the target imaging systems as a test set, through QualityLogic’s test management console, TestJob Sender.
TestJob Sender is a powerful application that allows you to send any file format to a printing device. The base version is provided with all our CET, FTS, and ATS products, but can be used with your test files, too.
TestJob Sender supports all current and future CET, FTS and ATS products and synchronizes with TestJob Builder as a part of your automated testflow process.
TestJob Sender Options
TestJob Sender provides additional test operations options that can simplify and enhance the testing process. The initial options for TestJob Sender include:
- TestJob Sender - Scheduler
Schedule your test job of files, which you may have generated with TestJob Builder, to be run at a specific time of day or night. By scheduling jobs for off-peak hours or at night, your testing process can be more productive without requiring you or other personnel to launch your testing event.
- TestJob Sender - Power Cycle
For some testing sequences, you may wish to power cycle the target imaging device. This allows the testing to ‘flush’ any cache or controller/system memory usage from the previous testing, giving a ‘clean’ start to your testing.
- TestJob Sender - Performance
By using the performance measurement option, you can track if any code changes have resulted in changes to the performance of the chosen test files from previous runs.
In the future, additional options will be developed that plug into TestJob Sender, making its role in your automation tools ecosystem ever more important.
