Certification Programs

QualityLogic can perform Windows Hardware Qualification Lab (WHQL) pre-certification testing on your printer drivers and help you prepare your logo certification submission. We are a Microsoft Certified Partner and have the latest WHQL test suites and procedures to help guide your product through the WHQL logo process. This service offers a number of benefits such as:

Typically, a WHQL run takes about one week - depending on the I/O interface(s). Our cost-effective process will enable you to quickly and efficiently pre-certify your device using the latest information and experienced WHQL test engineers.

Pre-Submission Testing for Windows Vista Logo Program 3.0

Pre-testing your printer or multifunction peripheral drivers for the new Microsoft® Works with Windows Vista™ or Certified for Windows Vista™ logo saves you time and money, but it is a complex, even daunting process. QualityLogic can ease the burden of submitting your device driver for Windows Vista logo testing by pre-testing your driver before you submit it to Microsoft.

Choose QualityLogic to conduct your pre-submission testing and help you submit your test package to Microsoft for the Works with Windows Vista or Certified for Windows Vista logo certifications, and you’ll get the benefit of our extensive expertise. We test all of the types of imaging devices Microsoft has set forth in the test standard.

Evolution of the Standard

In early December 2006, Microsoft Windows Vista and WDK (Windows Driver Kit) were released to manufacturing.  Because of this release, Microsoft Driver Test Manager (DTM) is now required for testing of all devices submitted to the Microsoft Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) for certification. Test results from pre-release versions of Windows Vista or the WDK/DTM will no longer be accepted.

Microsoft’s Hardware Compatibility Test (HCT) software is no longer eligible for use in WHQL testing, and Microsoft has announced all HCT support will end on March 1, 2007. Beginning June 1, 2007, XPS tests will become part of the printer submission tests and support for XPS will be required for “Premium” level logos. 

Windows Vista Test Experts

We know XPS inside and out. QualityLogic has developed a complete set of test tools and suites for XPS, and we conduct training in XPS technology and testing.

QualityLogic has been executing tests using the new Microsoft DTM for the past several months and has extensive expertise in testing all of the classes of printing and imaging devices defined in the test standard, including printers, scanners, and MFPs. We can also execute the pre-submission test for the removable media option on your device.

QualityLogic understands the requirements for testing your devices for “Basic” or “Premium” level logo certifications.

Today, the “Basic” logo level, previously known as “Silver” or “standard” logo level, is known
as “Works with Windows Vista”.

The “Premium” logo level, previously known as “Gold” logo level, is now known as “Certified for Windows Vista”.

We have in place the equipment and expertise required to execute these tests immediately and have already begun to provide testing to our customers. We are prepared to provide rapid and cost effective testing to meet your needs. We analyze any failures and recommend a course of action. At the conclusion of testing, we will generate a test log file and deliver it to you. Microsoft requires a log file to accompany each logo test submission. We also consult with you to help you submit your test. QualityLogic works with you to make your WHQL submission experience as fast and painless as possible.
