What is the Designed for Windows Mobile Logo Program?
The Designed for Windows Mobile logo test program was developed by Microsoft and implemented by QualityLogic to allow end-users to easily identify software products that are compatible with Microsoft Windows Mobile powered smartphone and PDA devices. Separate guidelines cover applications designed for Windows Mobile 6, Windows Mobile 5.0 and Windows Mobile 2003 SE or earlier. For details, see Microsoft's 'Mobile2Market' program description.
What are some examples of areas that will be addressed during logo testing?
Microsoft has identified compatibility and design requirements that govern:
- Application Install/Uninstall processes
- Registry and file management functions
- UI and Shell Support features
In addition, the logo program requires that an application be fully functional and stable before the logo will be awarded. For details, download the Microsoft handbook that is appropriate for your application:

Once a product successfully completes the logo testing process, QualityLogic will provide access to the Microsoft licensing process for the logo. By licensing the logo, you are able to use the logo on product packaging, advertising, collateral, and other marketing materials.
What does the logo on a product signify?
- The product is fully functional on Microsoft Windows Powered smartphone or PDA devices.The product was designed to take advantage of the unique benefits of running on Microsoft Windows Powered devices.
- The product incorporates key new functionality where applicable.
In addition, when your product passes testing for the logo program, your company receives 20 Microsoft Partner Points towards your eligibility to join the Microsoft Certified Partner Program.
