FaxTrap connected through an Ethernet TCP/IP network carrying extremely heavy network traffic will occasionally manifest call anomalies caused by the method that the device uses to handle network interrupts.

The most common symptom of this is the loss of a byte in an ECM data or RCP frame sent at V.17 14400bps. This loss occurs in roughly 2-3 calls per 1000 under the most severe conditions and was typically cured by connecting the device on a lower intensity network or through its serial connection.

The FaxTrap serial number appears on a sticker placed on the upper left corner of the unit's back panel. Its format is 100nnn-01 as in 100123-01 or 100567-01.
