Progressive-Complexity Page Samples

Search:

TThese Complexity files all begin with a simple, one-page file that a new user of the application might be expected to produce on any printer. Progressing through the succeeding five files, more complexity is added until a recognizably complex series of pages emerges in the sixth file.

Number of Files per Application: 6 Intermediate Files

File 1: A single page of text using the default TrueType font (whatever is active when the application loads). Default settings are used for all margins and other document options.

File 2: A single page of text using a "Single Master" Adobe Type Manager (ATM) font (if a serif font is used in File 1 above, then this font will be sans serif, and vise versa). Default settings are used for all margins and other document options.

File 3: The same page of text as above, but containing a mixture of no more than 3–4 TrueType and Type 1 fonts of varying point size, style, and/or text color. Headers and footers may be added to the document. The margin settings may be modified.

File 4: The same page created for File 3 above, with added Multiple Master fonts, and an imported Graphic. This may be a multi-page file.

File 5: The same page created for File 4 above, with several more graphic images, a wider variety of fonts, and a variety of drawing tools, such as rectangles, ellipses, and/or lines.

File 6: The same page created for File 5 above, with a few of the more advanced optional features as tables, multiple columns, colored and layered fills, footnotes, and so on. This is usually a multi-page file.
