QUALITYLOGIC’S PAGESENSE 6 ADDS MICROSOFT WINDOWS VISTA SUPPORT
PRINTER AND MULTI-FUNCTION PERIPHERAL PERFORMANCE TOOL TESTS PRINTING, COPYING, FAXING, SCANNING FUNCTIONS
Moorpark, CA – April 19, 2007 – QualityLogic (www.qualitylogic.com) announced today that PageSense 6, with support for applications designed to run on Microsoft Windows Vista and Windows XP operating systems, is available now. Leading printer and multi-function peripheral manufacturers, and industry publications use PageSense to obtain standardized test results and accurately compare the throughput-performance of one device against another. Upgrade pricing is available for all customers who currently own PageSense 4 or 5.
PageSense 6 uses test files for 23 applications from Adobe, Corel, Microsoft and others to perform automated throughout performance testing. This includes support for 10 new Windows Vista applications including Microsoft Office 2007 applications and Adobe Acrobat 8. Support for five additional Windows Vista applications will be incorporated this year and provided to PageSense 6 customers at no additional charge.
PageSense 6 offers multiple performance test modes to help printer and MFP manufacturers and their customers measure the throughput performance of their printing products:
“Print from PageSense” provides defined application test files and an automated process to print and record time measurements using a sensor unit. It accurately measures how fast an application returns and how long it takes to print a page to the printer.
“Print from PageSense (SPOOLMON)” provides ability to isolate driver performance from controller performance by effectively measuring file size, data transfer rate, pages transferred per second and overall elapsed spool time.
“Print From Anywhere” remotely monitors print performance from platforms not currently supported by PageSense, such as standalone photo printers, Mac OS or Linux.
“Copy” monitors copy performance from an MFP or any traditional copier.
“Fax” measures the time it takes to print a fax at the MFP.
“Scan” measures the time required to scan a document and send it to a folder on the PageSense test PC.
“Binary Print Utility” (BPU) is an independent application that prints captured files, eliminating the need to launch and run the supported applications.
