Moorpark, CA – August 29, 2007 – QualityLogic (www.qualitylogic.com) will introduce its XPREF product at Graph Expo, September 9-12, in the XPS Land Showcase pavilion, Booth # 5451, at McCormick Place South in Chicago. XPREF provides pre-flight, workflow automation and document optimization for XPS document files for printing. XPREF is designed for OEMs who need to integrate the processing of XPS document files with existing print production systems.
XPS (XML Paper Specification format) is the print specification included in Windows Vista, Microsoft’s new operating system. Industry experts estimate that XPS will eventually be used to create documents on 90% of all desktops. As this change occurs, printers will need the ability to process these files.
XPREF pre-flights XPS files and optimizes the code inside the files to improve performance of the imaged-output results for printing. In addition, it provides options for generating JDF and PDF/X output files to integrate with existing print workflows.
