QUALITYLOGIC INTRODUCES XPS PREFLIGHT PRODUCT
PROVIDES PREFLIGHT, WORKFLOW AUTOMATION AND DOCUMENT OPTIMIZATION FOR XPS DOCUMENT FILES

Moorpark, CA– September 5, 2007 – QualityLogic (www.qualitylogic.com) will introduce its XPREF product at Graph Expo, September 9-12, in the XPS Land Showcase pavilion, Booth # 5451, at McCormick Place South in Chicago. XPREF provides preflight, workflow automation and document optimization for XPS document files for printing. The initial release of XPREF is designed for OEMs who need to integrate the processing of XPS document files with existing print production systems.
XPS (XML Paper Specification format) is the print specification included in Windows Vista, Microsoft’s new operating system. Industry experts estimate that XPS will eventually be used to create documents on 90% of all desktops. As this change occurs, printers will need the ability to process these files.
XPREF preflights XPS files and optimizes the code inside the files to improve performance of the imaged-output results before printing. In addition, XPREF provides options for generating JDF and PDF/X output files to integrate with existing print workflows.
Two XPREF products will be introduced: The XPREF OEM Library is for OEMs that want to integrate XPREF functionality into their own applications. The XPREF Command-Line-Interface is for OEMs who want to integrate XPREF functionality into their own workflows. These products will be available Q4 2007.

Two other XPREF products are planned for 2008: The XPREF Server is for larger environments where multiple users and/or web access is a requirement. The XPREF Desktop is for document creators and print producers who need to verify that the format and content of files they produce is sufficient, accurate, complete and optimized for print production and archiving.
