QualityLogic (www.qualitylogic.com) today announced PageSense 7, the newest version of its printer and multifunction peripheral (MFP) performance measurement test tool. Manufacturers and industry publications use PageSense to obtain standardized test results and accurately compare the throughput performance of printers and MFPs. PageSense uses test files from popular applications to perform throughput performance testing of printing, copying, faxing and scanning functions.

The Phase 1 release of PageSense 7, which will begin shipping in late November, supports Windows 7 and includes test files for 15 popular applications, including Adobe Creative Suite 4 products, the Microsoft Office 2007 suite, and more. Following in Q1-2010, QualityLogic will release Phase 2 with application test files for 10 new Windows 7 applications, including Microsoft Office 2010 products. Phase 2 will also feature more robust duplex printing support and will allow the PageSense Paper Sensor to perform timing measurements of throughput independently of the PageSense software.

Like the previous version, PageSense 7 supports all ISO 24734 and 24735 test files, summary/full reports and automation framework. Test scripts are provided for all ISO-defined printer and digital copier test files in PageSense 7. PageSense generates ISO-style test reports via an ISO Report option only if the test data meet the ISO criteria. If the criteria are not met, the test must be repeated as outlined in the ISO standards.

“We are pleased to provide our customers an efficient and cost-effective way to measure and report throughput performance with the latest operating system and applications,” said Steve Kang, General Manager of QualityLogic Products Group. “PageSense 7 makes it easy for companies to automate performance testing.”

For customers who need access to legacy applications, QualityLogic will continue to offer the previous version of PageSense, v6.2, for some period of time after PageSense 7 is released.
