Validate your bidirectional charger before certification
Your V2G-DC charging station is the grid-connected inverter. QualityLogic helps your team test its grid-support behavior, capture results and resolve issues as you prepare for certification in your target market.
Choose the grid-code testing path for your market
QualityLogic’s IEEE 1547.1 test tools support the Type and Interoperability testing used in UL 1741 SB certification. For European programs, our EN 50549 tools support testing against the applicable EU and country-specific grid code requirements.
Make the test lab work as one system
Coordinate grid simulators, DC supplies and measurement equipment through the QualityLogic test environment. Follow the test sequence, capture the EVSE inverter’s response and use automated analysis to assess test results. Your engineers can focus their investigation on unexpected and nonconformant behaviors rather than spending time running the tests.
For programs that automate the full sequence, QualityLogic’s IEEE 1547.1 grid-code test solution has reduced communications and type testing time from 4-5 weeks to as little as 32 hours.
Use the tools with proprietary lab equipment or EVSE communications
Our equipment automation system uses the standard SCPI interface to integrate the lab equipment. Even then, we validate each piece of lab equipment to ensure our tests will work correctly with it. A proprietary protocol does not remove the value of our tools. In lieu of automated communications, guided test steps are provided to the test engineer to ensure systematic, efficient testing..
If your EVSE, grid simulator, power analyzer/oscilloscope or DC power supply uses a proprietary control interface, ask us to assess an integration effort. Feasibility, scope and one-time engineering costs depend on the interface and test requirements. A custom interface does not replace a standards-based communications interface but facilitates automation of the testing process.
Reduce repeated work across the product lifecycle
Run relevant conformance tests before the formal lab visit to find issues while your team can still make corrections. Reuse supported tests in your regression process to check later firmware and product changes. Test-suite updates help you keep the test baseline aligned with the versions your program requires; availability depends on your maintenance agreement.
Prepare the evidence your lab needs
Keep the test configuration, device version, raw measurements, analysis and corrective-action history together. Review the evidence with your lab before formal testing. Certification decisions and utility interconnection approval remain with the responsible organizations.
Test the charging conversation too
Grid-code validation and EV–EVSE interoperability answer different questions. Use CCS Analyzer to investigate supported charging and discharging-session communicationss alongside the electrical testing of your bidirectional EVSE.
