IEEE 2030.5 (SEP 2) App Symposium & Product Expo
The IEEE 2030.5 (Smart Energy Profile 2 or SEP 2) specification is an internationally adopted standard for residential grid-responsive DR and other energy-related applications, and is additionally proposed by the Smart Inverter Working Group (SIWG) as a CA Rule 21 utility DER standard.
The California PUC and major utilities are working on plans to incorporate IEEE 2030.5 (SEP 2) communications in DER integration projects. All are interested in seeing commercial quality products that support these applications. In parallel, South Korea is adopting IEEE 2030.5 for specific residential DR applications and is looking for certified products to deploy.
Southern California Edison, San Diego Gas & Electric, Sacramento Municipal Utility District, Consortium for SEP 2 Interoperability, and others invite all vendors with products that can communicate using the IEEE 2030.5 (SEP 2) protocol to attend a one-day Symposium and Product Exposition at the Electric Power Research Institute’s Palo Alto offices on June 30, 2015. Vendors considering adding IEEE 2030.5 to their products will also benefit from this event.
