QualityLogic IEEE 2030.5 V2 Test Tools Due Year End
We started work at the beginning of July on a new version of the QualityLogic IEEE 2030.5 Test Tools and are making good progress. We are calling the effort the “Accelerator 2016 Program” and are grateful to our partners who have pre-ordered the new version.
Our current schedule is:
Enhancement | Release Date | Version | Available to: |
---|---|---|---|
Improved FTS CSEP | Nov Early Release | Interim 1.5 | Accelerator Partners Only |
CA Rule 21 CSIP | Nov Early Release | Interim 1.5 | Accelerator Partners Only |
Improved FTS DER | Nov Early Release | Interim V1.5 | Accelerator Partners Only |
Final V2.0 | Dec Final Release | Final V2.0 | All customers |
The new features and enhancements in the V2.0 test tools include:
- Improved Certification Testing with 34 new Conformance Tests in the FTS that enable a single tool set to conduct certification testing for either an IEEE 2030.5 Server or Client. As a reminder, these enhancements include two phases:
- Phase 1 CSEP FTS Tests: 18 new tests covering TLS (security), CERT (certificates) and DNS (Discovery). This completes the CSEP Phase 1 tests in the FTS.
- Phase 2 DER FTS Tests: 16 new tests covering DER (distributed energy resource), DERP (distributed energy resource program), and FR (flow reservation). These are the conformance tests covering DER (Solar, Storage and EVs – and EV charge scheduling) based on the IEEE standard and CSEP Test Specification. This will support conformance testing using the FTS test tools for DER testing.
- Support for IEEE 2030.5 Common California Rule 21 Implementation Guide (CSIP) for Smart Inverters in the Ad Hoc Testers.
- The CA Rule 21 support will include the ability assign inverters to DER specific groups. This is important because it enables utilities to manage DER resources through aggregators. We are also improving the DER client code to support more complex test scenarios in Rule 21 applications. These are all currently defined functions and behaviors in the IEEE 2030.5 standard.
