Test Tools ATS Intermediate Files |
||||
The content of the page can be changed by selecting different fonts, adding or removing elements, repositioning or resizing images, and so on. This can be useful in setting up specific test scenarios that help isolate a specific problem. Reference print samples of all ATS-IFs are provided for comparison to your test results. (ATS-IFs are not to be confused with ATS Captured Files that are used to test a printer's emulation of a target driver.) We have created test pages for hundreds of applications in recent years. We now offer our own files for Asian language applications, as well as Far Eastern Test Files, developed by Justway, which was acquired by Software Imaging. View a list. The ATS-Intermediate Files for each application are organized into three groups, depending on their contents: Progressive pages - This group contains "real world" pages that range in complexity from simple to complex. The complexity pages for each application begin with a simple text file, and each progressive file adds more complex objects, text, fills, etc., until the final file is a multipage, complex document. These files can help in isolating specific problems by stepping through the complexities of an application. Robust pages - This group of files contains "real world" pages that strenuously exercise fully the printer or driver, limited only by the capabilities of the application itself. These are pages that a power user of the application might produce. Mechanical pages - This group contains pages that are not "real world" pages (for example, a page of nothing but fonts and font types), but that do fully exercise the printer or driver.
